Information processing

last week, our group was given a task entitled information processing and we need to give a definition and elaboration on the subject given. first, we were giving the definition of the term individual. in my opinion information processing involves a process, received and retrieved. first, as a student the will gain their knowledge by doing some research and discovery. besides, they may also experienced it on their own. here, they will receive a mechanism and prior knowledge about something new or learning from their past.

after that, the students then process the knowledge they get by doing repeated experiments to get the evidence and prove the concept. as the students continue their studies by level, they will easily forget the knowledge as they not do the same thing continuously. for example, from secondary school, students were doing titration between acid and base in present of indicator. however, as they continue to university level, some of students may not know how to use pipette and burette correctly and do a proper titration. the same materials and apparatus given were the same but because of lack experiments, the students not able to recall back what the had learn from their previous education.

just because students had their own prior knowledge, they can relate back what they were doing in the experiments with concept they had used before. this is the term of retrieved. in order for a students to prove the data their collect from experiments, they refer back to their previous knowledge by looking at the notes, examples, or refer back to lecturer and do some research on internet.

nobody is perfect. from our group research, we found that some of the students may have short term memory and long term memory. it depends on the students behavior in memorizing something important and give a big impact to their life. the ways to remember about the past is by doing the same thing again and continuously. apart from that, students may feel that the content or subject they learn from previous education is valuable and can be applied in their daily life. besides, it is also depend on the teaching and learning process as if the content presented by teachers is interesting, comes out with animation, videos, games, and colorful slides., students may keep it in long term memory.
